This programme very much builds upon the topics covered in the previous You Matter Level 1 course with subject matters here being studied in much more depth. A strong emphasis on physical health and emotional well-being is incorporated and toolkits are given in a supportive, judgement free environment. In addition to this we will be providing training for you to become an effective Peer Mentor for both the You Matter programmes and the wider community as a whole. This course of study is delivered through a hybrid approach of both group based work and one to one sessions on a weekly basis.
The programme offers 30 guided learning hours spread across 15 weeks and is taught entirely online. The course is fully accredited at Level 2 by Laser Learning Awards with the qualification being awarded to the Learner at the completion of the course. Due to the online hosting of You Matter 2 we can usually be very accommodating and try to schedule one to one sessions at times that work for you. Group based sessions however will naturally be less flexible due to the need to find times which work for the majority of participants.
We believe that technological divides should not restrict any young person’s access to our You Matter programmes. As a result we can provide a refurbished laptop free of charge. If you do not have access to the internet we can provide a USB Dongle and suitable sim data plan free of charge to enable this. If this is something you require, do get in contact with us and we will do our best to make suitable arrangements.
In order to take part our You Matter Level 1 must be taken as a prerequisite. If your application is accepted the course will be fully funded and completely free to participate in. Do get in touch if you would like more information or are considering applying. Applications are processed through a form on the ’Nominations‘ page of this website. A button taking you to this page can be found at the bottom of the page.
The delivery of this project relies heavily on unrestricted income and the receiving of public funds to provide these crucial services is essential. If you would like to commission sessions or make a donation then do contact us. More information can be found on the ’Support Us’ page.
We are looking for experienced Youth Practitioners and those with lived experience to become paid mentors on The Legacy Project
